We’re bringing our full band to Sactown to celebrate the release of our new album! We’re teaming up with two of the musicians whose contributions were foundational to the new record. Co-producer, and multi-instrumentalist Bruce Kaphan (American Music Club, David Byrne, The Black Crowes) will be featured on pedal steel guitar, keyboards, and electric guitar. Oakland-based drummer and multi-instrumentalist Dillon Vado (Heart Matter, Art Lande, Marcus Shelby, Hafez Modirzadeh) will be featured on drums. Fresh off the release of their critically acclaimed new album, Northern California-based unclassifiable duo Misner & Smith return home to Sonoma County with a full band to play a special album release show. The duo has played HopMonk many times over the years, and with All is Song they turn in their finest work to date--an album of inspired declarations to the power of music, song, and collaboration.

Technically precise songwriting mirrored with an improvisatory spirit and soaring harmonies have made the band one of the most acclaimed acts in the Americana world. Blending elements of that genre with bluegrass, traditional folk ballads, and more pop-leaning ideas, Misner & Smith makes music gloriously nonconforming.

Davis Music Festival has announced their full lineup for this year’s fest and it is AWESOME! They believe that songwriters are at the heart of our arts community and it is gatherings like this where we begin to grow the next season of songwriters. New Songs is a songwriting festival featuring four days of workshops, three evening concerts, multiple breakout and coaching sessions, practice space, and a professional production on stage in front of a public audience.
